About CleanUp for QuickBooks
An independent software tool for business owners and bookkeepers who want a shortlist of General Ledger entries to investigate. We are not affiliated with Intuit and do not act as your accountant.
How the scan works
You upload a supported QuickBooks Online General Ledger CSV. Rules inspect its transaction types, names, dates, amounts, and recognized account names for possible duplicates, catch-all classifications, unapplied-payment signals, Undeposited Funds entries, Opening Balance Equity, and naming inconsistencies.
This is a rules-based analysis of a file, not a live reconciliation with your bank or QuickBooks account. The scan cannot inspect receipts, confirm every payment relationship, choose the correct tax treatment, or guarantee that all errors are detected. Several rules can flag the same transaction, so combined amounts are not confirmed losses or savings.
Try the actual engine
Our public example uses invented data and the same engine as an uploaded file. You can inspect the source CSV and compare the result. Examples elsewhere on this site are illustrative unless explicitly documented as customer results.

The guides are maintained by the CleanUp for QuickBooks team. Updated guides link to the Intuit documentation used to check the workflow and show a substantive update date. Menu labels may vary across QuickBooks versions. We do not claim independent CPA review or professional certification for these guides.
Use your bookkeeper or accountant for uncertain classifications, reconciled or closed-period corrections, and accounting judgments. If a guide or scan result looks wrong, tell us which step or rule needs attention.
Your file and your choices
The file is processed on our server; the generated report is retained for 30 days. No QuickBooks login is needed for a CSV scan. The preview is free and the detailed report costs $29 once. You make changes in QuickBooks yourself.
